IPL 2023: Former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli was quite compassionate towards an intruder who entered the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium and touched his feet. Instead of going away, asking the fan to leave, or bolting for cover, Kohli’s indulgence saw him give the invader a nice hug. Check out the viral pic below. The entire incident took place during the second inning of the just concluded Indian Premier League 2023 Match 43 between LSG and RCB, as Kohli was fielding near the boundary. The supporter quickly left and headed back to his seat in the stands after possibly realising a lifelong desire of touching Kohli.
In the meanwhile, Kohli continued to draw attention on the field due to his post-game altercation with the Lucknow players and their mentor, Gautam Gambhir. After the game, LSG pacer Naveen-ul-Haq and Kohli appeared to be having a heated argument while the players were shaking hands. LSG opening batter Kyle Mayers then approached Kohli and began to speak with him until Gambhir separated them.
A few seconds later, Gambhir was seen advancing on Kohli with aggression while being restrained by his teammates, including the injured skipper KL Rahul. When the two got in each other’s faces, Kohli appeared to be attempting to calm Gambhir by placing his hand on Gambhir’s shoulder. However, the conversation quickly turned tense, and spinner Amit Mishra intervened to keep the two apart.
Coming to the match, LSG were bowled out by RCB for 108 in 19.5 overs while defending the total of 126 for 9. Josh Hazlewood (2 for 15) and Karn Sharma (2 for 20) were the pick of the bowlers for RCB. Earlier, LSG held RCB to a modest score on the slow Lucknow track thanks to three wickets from Naveen-ul-Haq (3 for 30). With 44 runs off 40 balls, Faf du Plessis was the highest scorer for RCB.
