Lucknow Super Giants Team Formation

In this season, LSG’s greatest setback is that Quinton de Kock won’t be available at least for the first game against Delhi Capitals. Star wicket-keeper batsman will miss the first game against DC on April 1, 2023, due to national service.

Mohsin Khan, the top left-arm pacer for the LSG is presently doubtful for the upcoming IPL season. He didn’t participate in any competitive cricket since IPL 2022 is another major setback for the team.

The LSG team management is free to try opening the batting with Kyle Mayers alongside captain KL Rahul. Kyle Mayers recently had an excellent series against South Africa, where he smashed 27-balls 51 runs in the second T20I.

In the middle order, the duo of Marcus Stoinis and Deepak Hooda are there, who played some incredible knocks in IPL 2022. Big hitters like Ayush Badoni, Nicholas Pooran, and Krunal Pandya will have to shoulder the burden in the middle order.

The good news for LSG supporters is that paceman Mark Wood has committed to playing in IPL 2023. He will bowl alongside Jaydev Unadkat and Avesh Khan. Ravi Bishnoi will bowl as a top spinner alongside Krunal and Hooda.

  • KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers will be opening the innings.
  • Deepak Hooda will be batting at no 3 followed by Nicholas Pooran, and Ayush Badoni.
  • The lower order will comprise Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis who will be effective with both bat and ball.
  • In the bowling unit, the onus would be on Mark Wood, Avesh Khan, Jaydev Unadkat, and Ravi Bishnoi.
