KKR Playing XI: KKR Team Formation vs RCB

The start under the new skipper did not go as planned. But with the talent and firepower they have, a comeback is possible. KKR’s attention will now turn to their upcoming encounter against RCB. With the game scheduled to take place at Eden Gardens, it is anticipated that they will make a comeback and make some changes.

In their second game, KKR can bring in Lockie Ferguson in place of Tim Southee. The Kiwi pacer was injured in the first game and that’s why Southee got the nod ahead of him. Ferguson is expected to be fit for the second game and is likely to walk straight into the XI.

KKR used Venkatesh Iyer as an impact player in the game against Punjab Kings. The left-handed batter played a decent knock of 34 runs in 28 balls, smashing 3 fours and 1 six. With the kind of role he played for the team, it is likely that the team can look to bring him into the first XI. It is expected that he can replace Mandeep Singh at the top.

  • Venkatesh Iyer and Rahmanullah Gurbaz will be opening the innings.
  • Nitish Rana will be batting at no 3 followed by Mandeep Singh, Rinku Singh, and Andre Russell.
  • The lower order will comprise Sunil Narine and Shardul Thakur who will be effective with both bat and ball.
  • In the bowling unit, the onus would be on Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, Umesh Yadav, and Lockie Ferguson.

Kolkata Knight Riders Squad for IPL 2023: Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana (Captain), Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Venkatesh Iyer, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Shardul Thakur, Lockie Ferguson, Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, Anukul Roy, Rinku Singh, Narayan Jagadeesan, Vaibhav Arora, Suyash Sharma, David Weise, Kulwant Khejrolia, Mandeep Singh, Litton Das, Shakib Al Hasan.
