Anil Gupta, a representative of the JKCA administration, claimed that the player’s participation in the IPL this year will surely motivate them to work towards improving their performances and realising their dream of competing in the competition.

Apart from Mohammad Tahir and Auqib Nabi, the Srinagar-based pacer Samiullah Dar has joined Kolkata Knight Riders. He is yet to represent J&K but was last season among the top wicket-takers in the event conducted by J&K Cricket Association.

The left-arm pacer from Bijbehara, Mujtaba Yousuf has joined Chennai Super Kings. Yousuf has represented J&K in all formats. Previously he has also been part of other franchise squads as a net bowler. He has regularly featured in IPL player’s auctions but wasn’t picked.

The promising tearaway pacer Basit Bashir has signed with the Mumbai Indians, while Wasim Bashir has signed with the Lucknow Super Giants. Basit and Wasim are both well-regarded and have astounded everyone with their speed. At junior levels, they have already represented J&K.

Being an IPL net bowler is a major deal because India discovered renowned pacer Umran Malik out of this process. Before the speedster was selected for the IPL roster, Sunrisers Hyderabad used Umran as a net bowler. Umran Malik hasn’t looked back since that point. Malik soon went on to play for India in ODIs and T20Is. He is the quickest Indian bowler to ever play international cricket.
