Barsapara Stadium: Rajasthan Royals Second Home Ground
The Assam Cricket Association worked hard to get Guwahati selected as an IPL site. Two matches were scheduled for Guwahati in 2020. But they could not be held because the IPL was shifted to Dubai due to the pandemic. But now With normalcy returning, there will be home and away matches for all the teams. And Rajasthan Royals have opted Guwahati as their second home.
Furthermore, Rajasthan Royals is committed to promoting cricket in the Northeast part of India. Thus RR is hosting its two home games at Barsapara Stadium. The franchise is also focused on creating opportunities for aspiring cricketers to showcase their skills on a global platform.
Former ACA secretary Devajit Saikia said that they are thankful that the Rajasthan-based franchise has chosen Guwahati as their second home.
“We are very thankful that the Rajasthan Royals have chosen Guwahati as their second home ground,” said Saikia.
RR vs PBKS Pitch Report
The pitch at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium is a balanced track. The new-ball bowlers may get some lateral movement off the surface. The batters need to be patient early in their innings. Once they get their eye in, they can start hitting through the line.
In IPL 2023, the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati will be the second home of the Royals. An impressive structure with a spacious seating capacity of over 40,000 spectators, it is the largest cricket stadium in Northeast India. It boasts of modern architecture and has 36 corporate boxes, making it a popular venue for cricket matches, concerts, and other events.
