IPL 2023: Ahead of season 16, many eyes have been on the Indian Premier League franchises’ treatment of the injured Indian players because the ODI World Cup would be played in October this year. These players range from Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer. According to Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, it is doubtful that players will take a break during IPL. Notably, BCCI has advised rest to Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and other Team India stars ahead of IPL 16.
The NCA and the Indian Cricket Board will monitor their health throughout the IPL 2023, which begins the following week.
“It’s all up to the franchises now. They own them now. We have given some indications to the teams but at the end of the day, its upto the franchises. And more importantly, its up to the players. They are all adults; they have to look after their bodies. If they feel it’s getting a bit too much, they can talk about it and take a break in one or two games. I doubt if that will happen, but,” said Rohit after India lost the ODI series 1-2 to Australia in Chennai.
