Cristiano Ronaldo’s influence is unreal. Ronaldo is one of the most popular celebrity in the world. His popularity extends far beyond football to influence other sports as well. In an unexpected turn of events, a well-known figure from F1 has brought the two sports together. Max Verstappen laughed as he imitated Ronaldo’s ‘Siuuu’ reaction when asked a question about the F1 docuseries on Netflix.
2023 Brazilian Grand Prix winner Max Verstappen along with podium finishers Lando Norris and Fernando Alonso faced the media after the race. Verstappen claimed his 17th victory of the season in the race
Talking to reporters after the race, Verstappen was asked about how comfortable he felt with being documented all the time. He responded with Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘Siuuuu’ celebration and then proceeded to say, “No. I think I am probably a bit more old school than that.
“I wish the social media never existed,” Verstappen said.
The ‘Formula One: Drive to Survive’ docuseries on Netflix provides viewers with first-hand insight into the people behind one of the world’s most prestigious racing events.
Incredibly fit: Verstappen on Ronaldo in 2022
Verstappen is a known Ronaldo supporter having previously appreciated CR7’s stamina and fitness.
“They are very different, so I can’t choose. I find it impossible to choose because I think Messi has more talent than Cristiano, but Cristiano has just kept on working and being incredibly fit. I mean, what he does at his age is incredible, but that’s how you can become very, very good as well,” Verstappen had said last year when asked to choose between Lionel Messi and Ronaldo.
To talk about the Brazilian GP, three-time F1 world champion Verstappen raced to an unchallenged victory in Sao Paulo after taking the lead from McLaren’s Norris at the first turn.
Verstappen and Norris maintained a considerable lead over the rest all along the race. Fernando Alonso was the closest to the leaders, but he was way behind them.
