CPL 2021: Evin Lewis shows his class ahead of joining Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021 Phase 2, slams 73 off 42: Rajasthan Royal’s new signing Evin Lewis slammed a 25-ball fifty on Saturday in the ongoing edition of Caribbean Premier League. Evin Lewis and Oshane Thomas are set to replace Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes at Rajasthan Royals in the second phase of IPL 2021 in UAE. Both the players are currently playing in the CPL 2021 and will be joining Rajasthan Royals’ squad in UAE later in the month.

Evin Lewis who opens for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots slammed a 25-ball 50 against Faf Du Plessis’ led St Lucia Kings in Friday’s fixture. Coming to chase a massive total of 225 runs, Evin Lewis went all guns blazing right from the start as he kept smashing the bowlers all over the park. On his way to 25-ball fifty, Evin Lewis slammed four fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 200.00 and also achieved a milestone of 5000+ runs in T20. Lewis finished his innings at 73 of 42 balls after he holed out Keron Cottoy’s full-length delivery outside off stump to deep cover.

Evin Lewis is in fine form as he amassed 229 runs in 6 innings at an average of 38.16 in the competition so far, including two fifties. He has hit fourteen fours and nineteen maximums in the ongoing CPL 2021 so far.

The second phase of IPL 2021 in UAE will be Evin Lewis’ first stint with the Rajasthan Royals and second overall in the IPL, having been part of the Mumbai Indians side in 2018 and 2019. The Caribbean opener is West Indies’ fifth-highest run-getter in T20Is, with 1318 runs, including 103 sixes. Only Chris Gayle (121) has hit more sixes for West Indies in T20I cricket.

Rajasthan Royals might be without the services of big players like Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler, and Ben Stokes. But, can Lewis unleash himself in UAE and prove out to be the trump card for Rajasthan Royals?
