CPL 2021 BR beat SLK: Kyle Mayers, Glenn Phillips knocks lend Barbados Royals easy win by eight wickets – The 28th match of CPL 2021 between Barbados Royals and Saint Lucia Kings was indeed a high scoring affair that was clinched by Jason Holder’s led side by eight wickets. Despite Lucia Kings posting a high total of 190 runs,  Barbados Royals’ players- Kyle Mayers (81*) and Glenn Phillips (80*) bizarre knock guided Royals to a convincing win with seven balls to spare. Kyle Mayers was adjudged as the player of the match for his unbeaten 81 runs. With this loss, St Lucia Kings’ playoff qualification is now dependent on other results.

In their chase of 191 runs, BR were off to a fine start until Roston Chase scalped two succussive wickets of Johnson Charles (16) and Shai Hope (0) in the sixth over. From there, Mayers and Phillips wove a 154-run partnership to lend an easy win to their side.

With the ball, almost all SLK bowlers were quite uneconomical who leaked alot of runs. Jeavor Royal, however still managed some decent economy of 1.5 in the two overs he bowled. However, he returned without any wicket.
