The incident occurred in the 27th over. Batsman Omair Yousuf puched back a delivery straight to Riyan Parag. He soon dived to his right and caught the ball. While he and the other fielder didn’t show any visible excitement. However the on-field umpire took it to the third umpire all by himself.

In the replay, it looked as thought the ball was dipping before it was into Parag’s palm. But the third umpire ruled it in favour of the Indian side that even stunned the Men in Blue. Fans took to Twitter soon and slammed the umpire for his controversial action.

However, Parag went on to dismiss Qasim Akram in the very next ball as Pakistan were reduced to 183/4. But the defending champions made a terrific comeback in the contest. Tayyab Tahir went on to slam an unbeaten 108 helping Pakistan post a big total of 352/8.

Apart from Riyan Parag, Rajvardhan Hangargekar also picked up two wickets in the match. The Yash Dhull-led side now face a big task. Both India and Pakistan are eyeing their second title in the tournament.
