Eddie Alvarez recently appeared on MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, where he discussed a variety of topics, including how he came to serve at BKFC and taking on Chad Mendes.
His opinions on the upcoming Chandler vs. McGregor fight, however, became one of the hottest subjects that garnered media attention. He openly acknowledged that it is a mismatched contest and that he wanted to get a third Alvarez-Channing battle but was unsuccessful.
Adding to that, Helwani pressed on his prediction about Chandler vs McGregor to which he replied, “If I had to guess, Mike Chandler doesn’t wrestle. If he stands with Conor, Conor’s going to knock him out. It’s a mismatch. Mike Chandler’s defence s****. He doesn’t have good defence, in boxing.”
He added, “He throws bombs, but Conor’s way too fast, way too quick to get hit with anything Mike Chandler is throwing. So I feel like, Mike should wrestle and wrestle quickly, and use that. And if he doesn’t, it’s going to be a bad night.”
