The two-round fight featured superb takedown defence from Hubbard, who was younger but significantly more experienced (Hubbard has more professional fights than McKenzie, despite the fact that both fighters began their pro careers in 2015). Hubbard repeatedly resisted McKenzie’s attempts to bring the fight to the mat. Hubbard’s chin was up to the challenge, and he frequently shot back when McKenzie had his chances on the feet and caught him with a few good punches that were right on the money.

Hubbard almost ended the fight in Round 1 as he held McKenzie in an uppercut followed by a big knee. As McKenzie made his move, it provided Hubbard with the top position, and he landed hard punches at McKenzie.

During the second round, McKenzie was bleeding as he showed his aggressive side, while Hubbard remained calm and scored a takedown with more strong punches. McKenzie attempted to counter-wrestle but was pinned down on the mat where Hubbard kept his opponent under control for the rest of the match and eventually won the match with a unanimous decision.

Hubbard advances to the semifinals along with UFC veterans Roosevelt Roberts and Cody Gibson.

Prospective fighters are those who have not competed in the UFC, and McGregor’s squad is still winless.

The current quarterfinal outcomes are as follows:

Roosevelt Roberts defeats Nate Jennerman through the first-round KO

Mando Gutierrez is defeated by Cody Gibson via first-round KO.

Aaron McKenzie is defeated by Austin Hubbard in a unanimous decision.
