McGregor removed himself from the USADA testing pool after breaking his leg during his trilogy battle against Dustin Poirier so he could concentrate on his recovery.

It was anticipated that the Irishman would return to the testing pool in roughly a year, but more than two years have passed and he has still not returned.

A recent update from McGregor’s manager may have just jeopardised his significant homecoming appearance till 2024 as fans wonder whether he will return.

Manager Claims To Set Sight on ‘Others’ As Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler May Not Happen

In the history of combat sports, Conor McGregor has pledged that his comeback will be the greatest.

His opponent for his comeback has not yet been made public.

As a result of filming the most recent season of The Ultimate Fighter for the UFC, where the American stood as an opponent coach to Chandler, the two of them are now at odds.

However, they do hope that the rematch will be against the former lightweight champion of Bellator.

Charles Oliveira, who is now scheduled to fight Islam Makhachev in the Middle East, was one of many alternate opponents that had been mentioned in connection with a matchup versus McGregor.

Also, Conor McGregor’s manager Attar said, “A fight with Chandler makes sense, but so do others”. This is why, their focus is not to fix an opponent right now but to make a comeback while doing everything in the right way.

Conor McGregor won’t engage in any further combat until he rejoins the USADA testing pool. However, all indications are that he will return to face Michael Chandler in 2024 after doing so soon.

After losing three of his last four octagon matches, he will be eager for the chance to finally get back to winning ways.

Attar doesn’t rule out McGregor facing someone other than Michael Chandler when he returns, despite the fact that he coached TUF 31 opposite against Chandler.

The fact that Conor McGregor won’t compete in 2023 shouldn’t be shocking.

With less than six months till the end of the year and USADA being emphatic that McGregor must be in the USADA testing pool for six months before engaging in combat, the Irishman will reportedly now look to 2024 for his comeback.

There have been reports that McGregor has been attempting to take advantage of a flaw in the system that would allow him to return much earlier than the obligatory six months.
