“The Notorious” is getting ready to go back into the ring. The former champion hasn’t fought since he broke his leg in the third and final fight with Dustin Poirier in July of 2021. McGregor has been out for two years due to that injury, but he is almost ready to return.

Later this year, McGregor is scheduled to fight Michael Chandler, a former lightweight champion from Bellator. The two men have even worked together as coaches on the most recent season of The Ultimate Fighter.

He said that ‘ he would put in more time at the gym if he knew he was going up against Conor McGregor in the ring. He might be setting himself up for disaster or putting himself in a corner from which there is no escape if he said that he would challenge Conor to a cage match. Isn’t that absurd? Conor just doesn’t cut it.’

After former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor tweeted that he would take Froch’s head “and twist it clean off,” the British fighter responded with a series of tweets of his own, including one in which he said McGregor would “get f***** up” if they were to box. When Froch hinted at a boxing bout, McGregor never commented, but when Froch said he’d fight McGregor in the cage, “Notorious” answered immediately.

Conor McGregor doesn’t appear to be too nervous about fighting Carl Froch in the octagon. Even though he hasn’t fought professionally since retiring after a 2014 knockout victory over George Groves, “The Cobra” is convinced that he can beat “The Notorious” in a cage fight.
