AC Milan present SECOND bid to Chelsea for Christian Pulisic WORTH £19 million

AC Milan presented a second bid to Chelsea worth £19 million for Christian Pulisic. The forward is pushing for the deal to finalise.

Christian Pulisic Transfer: Chelsea have put up Christian Pulisic for sale during this transfer window. They had a nightmare trophyless season and suffered a £121 million loss. Hence, they have to balance their books by selling a lot of players. Pulisic had gone down the pecking order in the last two seasons. Hence, he is looking to move as well. Both AC Milan showed interest in the player and offered £12 million as an initial bid which was rejected. They have improved upon it and have now offered around £19 million.

Christian Pulisic has been linked with a move away from Chelsea since the start of this summer transfer window. The Serie A club AC Milan and the Ligue 1 club Lyon have shown interest in him. In their first bid, AC Milan offered a £12 million bid to Chelsea. However, that was eclipsed by Lyon’s bid which was £21 million. Chelsea are asking for at least an amount over £17 million knowing that AC Milan can actually spend that amount on Pulisic.

The forward himself has shown an interest in a move to Italy over France. As per reports, he has even agreed personal terms with AC Milan. Additionally, to leave Chelsea and join the Serie A club, he has even agreed to take a pay cut. Following this, AC Milan has recently put forward a second bid of around £19 million. Considering that the second bid exceeds Chelsea’s asking price, they could have a breakthrough this time. Chelsea are yet to reply, but they need to make a sale as soon as possible.

Pulisic will prove crucial to see that the deal happens. The 24-year-old became an important player when he joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund 4 years ago. However, he fell down the pecking order in the last two seasons. Last season, he appeared in only 30 matches throughout all competitions. Among these, he started only 10 matches. He scored only once and provided 2 assists last season in all competitions. In total, he will be departing Chelsea with 145 appearances to his name.

Pulisic is now looking for more playing time and he believes AC Milan can be good for him. Hence, he has been pushing for the move to be completed since last week. During an interview with ESPN, Pulisic said, “It’s absolutely a time where I need to figure out what’s going to be best for my future and be somewhere where I can go and play and be trusted and feel good in what I’m doing. I want to find that joy at a club level again, for sure.”

AC Milan are waiting for the completion of the Sandro Tonali sale to Newcastle United. They have sold the player for a £60 million transfer fee. Hence, Chelsea knew that AC Milan could spend the amount they asked for Pulisic. AC Milan came through and with Pulisic refusing all other clubs, the deal could be finalised much sooner than later. Chelsea are also on the clock as they are on a mission to sell several players this transfer window to balance their books and squad.
