The suspension of the official Indian Football YouTube channel has previously been a point of contention for AIFF (All India Football Federation) president Kalyan Chaubey. According to him, the Santosh Trophy matches that were recently being streamed on the channel were first hacked and then the channel was suspended.
Kalyan Chaubey, on his official Twitter account, wrote ”There is a conspiracy and a devious scheme to scuttle the reputation of fast-growing Indian football with high-quality streaming. @IndianFootball had a large Viewership @Youtube during #HeroSantoshTrophy it was first hacked and now the account has been suspended. The Stafford Challenge Cup, a fixture in Indian football history since 1938, will once again enthrall spectators after 30 years according to a rebirth announced by the Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA) on Tuesday. The illustrious competition was last played in 1993.
The Staffordshire Regiment contributed the silver rolling trophy, which was won by the Iraqi Olympic squad in 1990, but they never gave it back to the organisers. Before the competition was discontinued, two more editions of it were staged, with Mohammed Sporting of Kolkata (1991) and ITI Sports Club (1993) winning the new Cup.
