Brentford move up to 14th in the table, and they’re now 11 points clear of the drop zone. Next up for them is West Ham at home. Chelsea’s winning run comes to an end, and the gap between them and the teams below them could close this weekend depending on other results. Their attention turns to Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday.

Chelsea 1-4 Brentford Live: Rudiger’s Goal of the Season, Eriksen with his first and Janelt with a brace

Christian Eriksen scored his first goal for Brentford as a stunning 12-minute second-half turnaround earned them a shock victory at Stamford Bridge. Antonio Rüdiger had given Chelsea the lead courtesy of a stunning strike from 35-yards out which smashed the post on it’s way into the back of the net.

But Vitaly Janelt equalised almost immediately, lashing home from 18 yards out. Then came the moment of the afternoon as Eriksen, fresh from scoring his first goals for Denmark in midweek since his return following a cardiac arrest, gave the Bees the lead.

Bryan Mbuemo’s set-up led to Eriksen lifting the ball past Edouard Mendy before Janelt completed his brace with a dinked finish after being played through on goal by Ivan Toney.

A stunning afternoon for Brentford was complete in the dying minutes as substitute Yoann Wissa took advantage of some poor Chelsea defending from a set-piece to lash the ball past Mendy.
