Iga Swiatek has not lost a match since February this year and is on a 35-match winning streak. Having won this many consecutive matches, she already broke Serena Williams’ record of 34 consecutive wins, which was set in 2013. Swiatek’s unbeaten run is the longest on the WTA tour in this century.

“Having that 35th win and kind of doing something more than Serena did, it’s something special, because I always wanted to be, I don’t know, to have some kind of a record. In tennis it’s pretty hard after Serena’s career,” said Swiatek after going past Serena.

However at the Wimbledon, the Polish has an opportunity to go past Roger Federer’s record of 41 consecutive wins. This is still the second longest win streak in Tennis achieved in the 21st Century. Federer achieved the feat in 2006-07. If Swiatek manages to enter the final at Wimbledon, she will go past Federer’s record. Novak Djokovic is at the top of this list having won 43 consecutive matches in this century.

Meanwhile, she is also the only player on the women’s Tour to have reached atleast until the fourth round in her last seven consecutive Grand Slam tournaments. She will look to extend this record as well. The top seed, who will spend her 13th and 14th weeks as the world No.1 will begin her campaign at SW19 by facing Jana Fett in the first round.
