Will India’s flagbearer Manu Bhaker fly back to Paris for closing ceremony of Olympics 2024?

Manu Bhaker has been named the flag bearer for India at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024 for her remarkable performance.

Manu Bhaker, India’s national star, received a grand welcome upon her return after making history at the Paris Olympics 2024 with two bronze medals. She is the first Indian athlete since independence to win two medals in a single edition. As a result, she has been chosen as the flagbearer for India in the closing ceremony. Since her homecoming, questions have arisen about whether she will fly back to Paris for the ceremony.

India’s flagbearer in closing ceremony

Manu Bhaker has been selected as India’s flag bearer for the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics, scheduled for August 11. After returning home, she will travel back to Paris for the ceremony.

“It is an honour and privilege to be named as India’s flag-bearer for the Closing Ceremony of the Paris Olympics,” Bhaker said.

“Leading the outstanding Indian contingent with the tricolour in my hands with millions around the world watching is a truly humbling opportunity and one that I will cherish forever. I am grateful to The IOA for considering me worthy of this honour, and I look forward to raising the Indian flag with immense pride. Jai Hind!”

Three years ago, during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Closing Ceremony, wrestler Bajrang Punia represented India.

PV Sindhu and Sharth Kamal carried the Indian flag in the Parade of Nations on the Seine River for the Opening Ceremony in Paris. The male flag-bearer for the Paris 2024 Closing Ceremony has not yet been announced by the IOA.
