Indian shooter Sarabjot Singh narrowly missed out on a place in the men’s 10m air pistol final at the Paris Olympics, finishing in ninth position with a total score of 577.
Matter of inches for Sarabjot Singh
The heartbreaking result came down to a single inner 10, with German shooter Robin Walter securing the final qualification spot despite also scoring 577. Walter’s superior accuracy in hitting the inner circle proved to be the deciding factor.
Costly lapse in concentration
Sarabjot Singh had shown great promise in the early stages of the qualification round, even achieving a perfect score of 100 in one series. However, a subsequent dip in performance, including a score of 93, proved costly for the Indian shooter.
Learning from experience
Despite the disappointment, Sarabjot remains determined to learn from the experience and improve his performance in future competitions. The young shooter will now focus on the remaining events at the Olympics, aiming to contribute to India’s medal tally.
