Why is Saina Nehwal not playing?

Saina did not qualify for the Paris Olympics. She last competed in the KFF Singapore Open 2023 in June. The ace shuttler has not retired from the international circuit, but she is currently not active in the game.

“I get inflammation in my knee whenever I train for an hour or two. I am not able to bend my knee, so a second session of training is not possible. The doctors have given me a couple of injections. Of course, the Olympics is near, and it is tough to qualify,” Saina said on Paris Olympics back in September 2023.
