The Telugu Titans showcased exceptional form with a stellar performance against the Patna Pirates at the GMCB Indoor Stadium, Gachibowli, Hyderabad, during the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 11 on Monday (October 28). This marked the Telugu Titans’ second triumph in PKL Season 11. Key performers Ashish Narwal secured 9 points, while Pawan Sehrawat contributed an additional 5 points for the Titans.

A cautious beginning

The match began on a cautious note, as both Patna Pirates and Telugu Titans were reluctant to take early risks. For the Pirates, it was Devank and Ayan who were making significant contributions in the early exchanges.

Patna Pirates lead at half-time

Halfway through the first half, the Patna Pirates maintained a slender 1-point lead, with the scoreboard reading 6-5 in their favour. Vijay Malik was steering the charge for the Telugu Titans at this juncture. Gradually, the seasoned Patna Pirates, three-time champions, stretched their lead to 3 points with about 3 minutes remaining in the first half. By the break, the Pirates were ahead, leading 13-10.

Telugu Titans turn the tables

Post the interval, Pawan Sehrawat and the Telugu Titans swung into action, narrowing the gap to just one point in the initial exchanges. Vijay Malik then levelled the scores at 14-14 with 14 minutes remaining. Though Devank worked hard to keep the Pirates ahead, Ashish Narwal and the Titans scored an All-out, surging into the lead with 10 minutes left to play.

Nail-biting finish

As the final stretch of the game unfolded, both teams intensified their efforts, trading points and raids, leaving the Titans with a slim 1-point lead with 5 minutes to go. At this crucial juncture, Ashish Narwal executed a Super Raid, granting the Titans some breathing space. Ayan quickly retaliated with an agile raid for the Pirates, putting the game on a knife-edge with only a couple of minutes remaining.
