The Paris Olympics 2024 have started after an impressive opening ceremony, and on the first day of this mega event, we have our first gold medalists. China’s team of Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao won the inaugural gold medal, competing in the 10m air rifle mixed team event. They defeated the South Korean pair of Keum Jihyeon and Park Hajun with a score of 16-12.
Indian pair Ramita Jindal and Arjun Babuta finish sixth
In a series of 30 shots for both shooters with total 60, the Indian pair of Ramita Jindal-Arjun Babuta managed a total of 628.7. The second Indian team of Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh also struggled, ending up in 12th place with 626.3 points.
But, the Chinese pair secured first place with a score of 632.2, while Korea’s pair of Keum Jihyeon and Park Hajun followed with 631.2. Both teams qualified for the finals, where China dominated the entire game. Additionally, Kazakhstan won the first bronze medal of the Paris 2024 Olympics in the 10m air rifle event which is their first Olympic medal in shooting last bagged in 1996.
