Who will be India’s flag bearers at Paris Olympics closing ceremony

With Manu Bhaker already named as India's flag bearer at the Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony, who is the other person set to hoist the Indian flag at top?

As the Paris Olympics approach their conclusion, countries are gradually naming their flag bearers. India, which has won five medals, including one silver and four bronze, has also announced their representatives who will proudly hoist the Indian flag. The final ceremony is scheduled for August 11.

Manu Bhaker was named as one of the flag bearers earlier on Monday by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), thanks to her consistent performances, including winning two bronze medals in the 10 m events. Also, there is another notable name who will join Manu Bhaker to lead the Indian contingent at the Paris 2024 Olympics Closing Ceremony.

Along with Manu Bhaker, hockey legend PR Sreejesh, who recently hung up his boots, will be a joint flag bearer at the Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony. Sreejesh will join shooter Manu Bhaker after the Indian hockey team secured third place by beating Spain 2-1 in the bronze medal game. Following the match, IOA President PT Usha mentioned that Sreejesh was both an emotional choice for the IOA leadership, noting his admirable service to Indian hockey and sports over more than two decades.

IOC President PT Usha confirmed PR Srijesh name

IOC President and former athlete PT Usha said, ‘I spoke with Neeraj Chopra and appreciated the spontaneity and grace with which he agreed that Sreejesh should be the flag bearer at the closing ceremony.’

She added, ‘He told me, “Ma’am, even if you had not asked me, I would have suggested Sree Bhai’s name.” ‘It reflects the immense respect Neeraj has for Sreejesh and his contribution to Indian sport’
