Who is Nitesh Kumar?
Nitesh Kumar has a World No. 1 in the Men’s Singles SL3 category as of August 8, 24. He graduated from IIT-Mandi with a degree in Electrical Engineering and has excelled in both academics and athletics.
Nitesh’s journey began with a passion for football, but a 2009 accident in Vizag left him with permanent leg damage. Despite this, he pursued sports, discovering badminton at IIT-Mandi. In 2016, he debuted at the Para Nationals in Faridabad, winning bronze. By 2017, he secured silver and bronze at national events in Bengaluru. His domestic success peaked in the 2020 Nationals, where he defeated Tokyo Paralympic medalists Pramod and Manoj for gold. With numerous international medals, Nitesh is now poised for his Paralympic debut, inspiring many with his resilience and achievements.
