One more bronze could be on the way from the shooting stars! India's mixed team in skeet will compete for the bronze medal.

India’s Maheshwari Chauhan and Anantjeet Singh Naruka have a chance to secure the country’s fourth bronze medal in the mixed team skeet event at the Paris Olympics.

They will face China’s duo, Yiting Jiang and Jianlin Lyu, in the bronze medal playoffs. India finished in 4th place during the qualification round, while the Chinese pair secured 3rd place.

Who is Maheshwari Chauhan?

Maheshwari Chauhan, an Indian sport shooter, was born on July 4, 1996 in Rajasthan. She made history as the first Indian to win a medal in women’s skeet at a global competition. Growing up, she enjoyed shooting with her father, Pradeep Singh, her brother, Daksheshwar Singh, and her grandfather, Ganpat Singh, at their family’s private range in Siana.

At the 7th Asian Championship Shotgun in Astana, Kazakhstan, Chauhan, secured the bronze medal on event.

Who is Anantjeet Singh Naruka?

Born in 1998 into a Rajput family, Anantjeet Singh Naruka was initially coached by his father, who was also a skeet shooter. His first major win in a senior tournament came in 2015 when he won the gold medal in men’s skeet at the National Shotgun Championships in Jaipur.

At the 2023 Asian Games, he competed in two events: the individual men’s skeet and the team men’s skeet. He won a silver medal in the individual men’s skeet competition with a score of 58/60 and also secured a bronze medal in the team event.
