Which country has won most medals in badminton at the Summer Olympics?

Badminton events include women's singles, men's singles, doubles for both, and mixed doubles in Paris Olympics 2024.

India has seven shuttlers representing the country in the Paris Olympics 2024. PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen have reached the Round of 16 in the event. Having made its official Olympic debut in the Summer Olympics of 1992, badminton has been played in eight different Olympiads. A total of 74 nations have participated in the Olympic badminton competition, but only 18 countries have participated all eight times.

Badminton history in Olympics

Badminton was first included in the Summer Olympics in 1972 as a demonstration sport. Two decades later, in 1989, the sport was formally added to the Olympic program. It had its competitive debut at the 1992 Summer Olympics, where four events featuring singles and doubles competitions for men and women were staged. Each event saw the awarding of four medals, including two bronzes. had five events in 1996, including mixed doubles, at the next Games. Since 1996, the only person to win the bronze medal is the winner of a playoff between the two semi-final losers. This format will be used for the Olympics in 2020.
