Manu Bhaker faced heartbreak at the Paris Olympics 2024, narrowly missing out on a historic third medal. Despite winning two Olympic medals, she finished fourth in the women’s 25m pistol final event. However, her eyes are already set on the next Olympics in 2028 in Los Angeles.
“I was like very nervous in the finals, although I was trying on each shot, but things did not turn out to be very good for me. But there’s always the next time. So I’m already looking forward to the next one. I got, like, really nervous about it. I was trying my best to keep calm and to just try to do my best. But that was not enough,” Manu Bhaker told the broadcasters after she missed out on a medal by a whisker.
I was like ok next time: Manu Bhaker
In a fiercely contested final, Manu managed to be in the top 5 but lost out in the shoot-off to Hungary’s Veronika Major for the bronze medal. The 22-year-old suggested that she was grateful to have won two medals. However, she is hungry for more and is aiming for another successful campaign in LA Olympics 2028.
“I’m glad that I got two medals, but like right now, fourth is not a very good place. Of course, like the moment my match was over, I was like ok, the next time,” she added.
