An official announced on Friday that a judge in Romania had approved a plea to extend Andrew Tate’s detention by an additional 30 days. Tate is a social media figure arrested there on suspicion of being a member of an organized crime group, human trafficking, and rape.

Tate, a 36-year-old British-American citizen with 4.7 million Twitter followers, was first taken into custody in Bucharest, Romania’s capital, on December 29. Two Romanian ladies and his brother Tristan were detained in the same case.

Ramona Bolla informed the Associated Press, a spokeswoman for DIICOT, Romania’s anti-organized crime organization, that prosecutors had requested a second 30-day extension to hold all four in Jail. At the same time, the investigation was ongoing on Thursday. The request was granted on Friday, she claimed.
