When it comes to basketball in India, there’s not much craze, which some of the other sports enjoy in the country. Princepal Singh, Satnam Singh, and Amjyot Singh are the only names, who went to the NBA, for some time and tried to make a name for themselves. When it comes to the rankings, the men are 81st in the world, and the women at 67th spot.
We are not really a force to reckon with in Asia as well, with the teams failing to perform well at the Asian Games as well. But an undated video from Mizoram, India, has gone viral, where apparently basketball has a huge following. The video shows an inter-school basketball match, where the audience is cheering for their favorite teams, and going crazy as the action is unfolding.
This is truly unprecedented for a country, where the sport doesn’t really hold as much value, like some of the others. This is enough to ignite a ray of hope, that someday India will be a powerhouse in basketball as well.
