And the time has come when Manu Bhaker has landed in India. The Paris Olympics bronze medalist received a grand welcome at the Delhi Airport. She and her coach Jaspal Rana were showered with garlands after Manu Bhaker’s heroics at the Paris Olympics. She won two bronze medals in the 10 m Air Pistol event.
Grand Welcome for Manu Bhaker
Prior to her arrival a huge crowd of fans had gathered at the Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi. And upon her arrival, it was a sight to behold. Indians were extremely happy and proud to meet their new daughter who had made her country proud at the Olympics.
Manu Bhaker went down in the pages of history. She became the only Indian athlete to bag 2 medals at a single edition of the Olympics. She went on to clinch the bronze in the 10 m Air Pistol women’s event. And a couple of days later alongside Sarabjot Singh she bagged the bronze yet again in the mixed event.
The 22-year old sharp shooter was en route to clinch her third medal, quite possibly a silver or even a gold. She was comfortably placed second in the finals of the 25 Pistol event. But a couple of bad shots saw her slipping to the fourth spot, narrowly missing out on yet another bronze medal at the Paris Olympics.
