Indeed, the idea of Tate vs Tyson is interesting. And if they would have gone up against each other, it would be a thriller and a tight match. Tyson was a world champion who is still capable of thrashing anyone, but he is 30 years past his prime.

And Tate was a kickboxer who executes hard counter regular boxing, but it’s hard to decipher what his actual competence is. He did succeed in a few competitions, but nobody appears to be aware of his degree of boxing prowess. Tate was unsure about beating Tyson, who was in his prime when Rob Moore questioned him about it.

When asked if he is ready to fight Mike Tyson, ‘Top G’ said, “No, because he is now old, that doesn’t feel fair. Prime Tyson would have ripped me apart in a boxing match, perhaps I was a boxer and I was heavier, and maybe I could make a bunch of stories but the truth is I’m a kickboxer and it’s his rules set and he was Mike Tyson.”

He added, “He would have beaten me. So to be him, he has past his prime, it just feels dishonorable and I feel dirty for doing that. So no amount of money on the planet would convince me to fight Mike Tyson.”

Tate believes that it is insulting to compete against a man like Tyson who is far past his prime. And as a sign of respect for Tyson, he also said that if someone offered tremendous money, he would certainly refrain from fighting. Tate, like everyone else, is scared of taking on Tyson in his prime and believes that if he did, Tyson would tear him to pieces.
