There is no denying that most countries have embraced the idea of feminism, which is the support of equal rights for women. And one country where feminism has grown quickly is India, where women’s roles and contributions to society are steadily rising. But when questioned about his thoughts on the rise of feminism in India, Tate said he believed it will eventually die out and explained why.

As per Tate, “The harder society and the harder the life is as a whole, the longer it’s going to take feminism to spread. Feminism only exists in a vacuum of an easy life. If you’re living in a society like India, where life is hard, feminism disappears. Because the harder life is the closer people naturally revert to their gender roles.”

He added, “So in countries where life is harder feminism can’t take hold because feminism in a vacuum of a very privileged life. I’m sure there are some kids in India who didn’t get laid off, chick and he’s complaining she is a feminist there’s a bunch of dumb s*** right?”

Tate does have a point when he claims that in economically weaker countries, where everyday survival is a priority, feminism is less prevalent. In contrast to what Tate said, it is important to remember that India has the fourth-fastest economic growth, which suggests that the country is moving toward a society that is progressive. So the idea of feminism will not die out.
