She defeated the Spaniard in straight sets at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Muguruza tried to script a comeback but failed to make a mark as Krejcikova kept her cool to clinch the second set tie-breaker. The match ended 6-3, 7-6(7). Krejcikova is yet to drop a set in the ongoing US Open in her first main draw appearance. She will next face World No.2 Aryna Sabalenka for a place in the semifinals.
