United Cup LIVE: The United Cup 2023 is underway in Australia. The inaugural edition of the Mixed Team event beings together some of the top International stars in the ATP and WTA Tour. What is the format of United Cup?
- The United Cup is a mixed-team competition. It is aimed to brings together the players from the Top 18 teams in the rankings. The tournament will award ranking points to the players.
- The group stage will be played from 29th December to 3rd January. Each of the 18 teams have been divided into six groups of three teams each.
- The 11-day tournament will be played across three cities, Sydney (Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre), Brisbane (Queensland Tennis Centre) and Perth (RAC Arena). Each City will play host to two groups of six teams each.
- A tie comprises of two ATP, two WTA singles and one mixed doubles match. Each tie will be played over two days.
- If the tie is locked at 2-2 after singles, the mixed doubles match will decide the winner.
- Once the group stage matches are over, the winner of each of the groups in a city will advance to the city final that will be played on Wednesday, 4th January 2023.
- Three winners of the City Final will advance to the Final four directly, while the fourth team will be the best City Final runner-up.

United Cup Groups
Six countries qualified based on the ATP ranking of their No.1 player. Six countries qualified based on the WTA ranking of their No.1 singles player. Five more countries qualified based on the best combined ranking of their No.1 ATP and WTA players. Australia received entry as the host nation. The top six seeds are Greece, Poland, United States, Spain, Italy and France.

Prize Money
The total prize money pool for the United Cup is $15 million, split equally between the ATP and WTA. Individual prize money is based on ranking, match wins, and team wins. No points will be awarded for mixed doubles.
