Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora are two very different fighters. Despite being 6’9”, Fury moves like a lightweight and can box at range, often outboxing his opponents. Chisora, on the other hand, is a volume puncher who likes to get stuck in and out-punch his opponent.

Thus, on paper and given their styles, you would think Chisora would have more knockout power. However, this is not the case. It is much closer than you think.

If we consider the numbers by themselves, then both Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora have 23 KOs each. However, Fury achieved this in 33 fights, while Chisora took 55 fights to get the same number of KOs. Therefore, if you consider knockout percentage, Fury has the better rate at 69.7% compared to Chisora’s 51.1%.

Tyson Fury’s new approach makes him a better knockout artist than Derek Chisora

For the longest time, Fury preferred to break down his opponents over the course of the fight by boxing on the outside. However, things changed for him after he started training with SugarHill Steward.

The first sign of Fury’s new approach was in his second fight against Deontay Wilder. ‘The Gypsy King’ said he would knock out Wilder after the decision did not go his way in the first fight. And to the surprise of many boxing fans, Fury ditched his old approach and walked Wilder down right from the first bell.

As a result, Fury overpowered the American and knocked him out. Fury then knocked out Wilder again in a similar fashion in the rematch, before knocking out Dillian Whyte earlier this year.

Chisora, on the other, has failed to get a knockout in his last four fights, losing three of them via decision. Therefore, if you take all of this into consideration, it is clear that Tyson Fury is the better knockout artist between himself and Derek Chisora.

Who do you think is a better knockout artist? Do you think we will see a knockout this weekend at Tyson Fury vs Derek Chisora 3?
