Summing Up Episode 3: During the weigh-ins- Hubbard stepped on the scale first and registers 156 pounds. The fight was official when McKenzie followed him to the scale and registered a 155.5-pound weight.
As the two squared up, Dana White analysed each competitor, and the combatants from each team offered their opinions on the contest. Predictions followed corporate lines as usual, with Carlos Vera selecting his flatmate and teammate and Kurt Holobaugh selecting the veteran of Team Chandler.
Aaron McKenzie of Team McGregor, a lightweight, competed against Austin Hubbard of Team Chandler, a fellow former LFA champion who is three years older and has a little reach advantage.
After three and a half competitive minutes, Hubbard finally found a place for an uppercut that knocked McKenzie to the ground, then followed it up with a knee that knocked him out cold. The lightweight prospect was then busted apart by the subsequent onslaught as the round ended.
In the second round, McKenzie started strong with low kicks and accurate shots, but Hubbard easily parried them due to the obvious power disparity.
Opening the cut from the first stanza, Hubbard brought McKenzie to the ground and began attacking him. He did this by throwing a massive elbow that hit with a bang. McKenzie struggled to get to his feet, but Hubbard knocked him down once more before relaxing into his guard and firing sparingly until the final horn.
The final results were in favour of Austin Hubbard as he defeated Aaron McKenzie by unanimous decision.
