Top players who went unsold in PKL 2024 auction

PKL Season 11auction was a boon for some and a bane for others. On one hand, 8 players fetched prices of over ₹1 crore, while on the other, some legends went unsold.

One of the most popular Kabaddi league auctions just concluded a few days ago, revealing many players who emerged as millionaires. Over eight players were purchased for more than ₹1 crore on the first day alone, August 15th. Also, two players were sold for over ₹2 crore, as teams aimed to build well-settled squads by securing the services of these superstar Kabaddi players. However, there were a few who were unfortunate not to be picked by any franchise, including some legendary names. So, who are they? Let’s take a look at the top names who went unsold in the PKL 2024 auction.

Players who went unsold in PKL 2024 auction

Sandeep Narwal

Sandeep Narwal, the heart of Kabaddi fans and known for his aggressive play, went unsold—yes, that’s correct. After playing in 156 PKL matches and accumulating 645 points with an average of 1.83 raid points per match and 2.31 successful tackles per game, Narwal, who has done a wonderful job for various PKL teams, failed to attract any bidders in this PKL auction. Experts say his age and a noticeable decline in performance were the main reasons.

Deepak Hooda

Deepak Hooda, who was placed in Category C, also failed to attract any bidders. The Arjuna awardee last played in PKL 2022 and has been out of the team since then. In PKL 2024, he once again failed to get picked by any team. Hooda last played for the Bengal Warriors, but the season that made him a household name was with the Jaipur Pink Panthers in 2018, where he scored 208 points. A former India captain and one of the most prolific raiders in PKL history, his not getting selected is one of the most surprising outcomes.

Rahul Chaudhari

Last but not least, one of the most shocking omissions was Rahul Chaudhari failing to attract buyers. Known as a big-name player due to his impressive experience, Chaudhari led the Jaipur Pink Panthers to a championship in Season 9, which was the pinnacle of his career. However, his gradual decline became evident, and his failure to be picked in the Season 11 auction clearly reflects the downturn of the once-stylish raider.
