Athletes with most appearances in Olympic
The ace tennis player Leander Paes participated in seven consecutive Olympics from 1992 to 2016, the most by any Indian. In 1996, he won a bronze medal in men’s singles at Atlanta, becoming the first Indian to win an individual medal since 1952.
Mahesh Bhupathi, another Indian tennis legend, placed second with five Olympic appearances from 1996 to 2012. His best performance was at the Athens 2004 Olympics, where he and Leander Paes finished fourth.
India’s first individual Olympic gold medalist, Abhinav Bindra, has represented his country in five editions. His maiden appearance was in Sydney in 2000, followed by a historic gold in Beijing 2008.
