Tokyo Olympics Wrestling: Ravi Dahiya lose Gold Medal bout, but Indian champion wrestler wins Silver Medal for the country

The 86 Kg freestyle wrestling matchup saw Morris unleash his best side to the display. Although Punia tried his best to respond, it didn’t turn out to be extremely fruitful. The reigning Pan-American champion and 2o18 world champion, David Morris Taylor had an answer to all of Deepak Punia’s antics.

While 22-year-old Punia had throttled his way up to the Olympics by beating Nigeria’s Ekerekeme Agiomor and China’s Zushen Lin, he may now have to go against Artur Naifinov. However, the official website of Olympic doesn’t confirm a steady matchup for the Indian star at this point.

Following his loss to Morris, Punia might look back at a few loopholes in his game that let the American slide in and exploit them in the collision. On filling the voids, we can expect the Indian star to unveil another dominant performance and secure his right to claim the bronze medal.

It’s not over for Deepak Punia the Tokyo Olympics 2020

Going against some of the bests in the world at the 68 Kg roster, Punia could successfully dominate his opponents till the Semi-finals. But he and Artur Naifonov had to accept defeat in the semis. Besides, Punia contracted the loss on a huge margin of 10-0. Whereas, Naifonov could see 1 point to his side in response to his rival’s 7 points.
