Tokyo Olympics: Silver medalist Mirabai Chanu visits Sachin Tendulkar says,” His words of wisdom & motivation shall always stay with me” – Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, who won the silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 paid visit to former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday morning. Mirabai said that Sachin’s word’s of Wisdom & motivation shall always stay with her.

Mirabai shared two photos on her Twitter with Sachin Tendulkar. In one Sachin can be seen greeting and congratulating her with flower bookey while in one she is showing Sachin her Olympic silver medal.

Mirabai Chanu meets Sachin Tendulkar

 “Loved meeting @sachin_rt Sir this morning! His words of wisdom & motivation shall always stay with me. Really inspired,” she wrote in the caption. 

Sachin retweeted the post and wrote, “Equally happy to meet you this morning,@mirabai_chanu! It was wonderful talking to you about your inspiring journey from Manipur to Tokyo. You’ve got places to go in the coming years, keep working hard.” 

Earlier, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur felicitated the seven Olympic medalists, namely Neeraj Chopra, Ravi Kumar Dahiya, Mirabai Chanu, PV Sindhu, Bajrang Punia, Lovlina Borgohain, and the men’s national Hockey team, at a gala felicitation program at the Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi.(Tokyo Olympics 2020)

Among those present on the occasion to felicitate them also included Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju; Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Nisith Pramanik; Secretary-Sports Ravi Mittal, and Director-General, Sports Authority of India, Sandip Pradhan.

Gold medalist Neeraj, silver medalist Ravi, bronze medalists Bajrang, Lovlina and Manpreet returned to India after a long flight today after gracing the closing ceremony of Tokyo 2020 last night. They were joined by the other medalists Mirabai and Sindhu during the grand felicitation.
