Tokyo Olympics – Hockey Team Big Lottery: Hockey bronze medallist team’s big lottery, Orissa CM gives 2.5 Cr cash each and DSP Job in police to winners- Indian hockey team seems to have hit a jackpot by after ending India’s medal drought. A number of rewards are making their way to Manpreet Singh and Co who won the Bronze at Tokyo Olympics. Among the latest gift, the government of Odisha is offering them Rs 2.5 crore each and appointing them as DSP in Odisha Police. Besides Men’s hockey team, the women’s hockey team will also get Rs 50 lakh each. They were placed fourth in the competition.
Meanwhile, the Kerala government has decided to give goalkeeper PR Sreejesh Rs 2 crore and promote him as Joint Director in his Parent Department (Education Department).

IOA President Narinder Dhruv Batra shared a letter thanking the government of Odisha and Kerala for their gesture towards Indian hockey.

Hon’ble Sir You, Your Vision and Your Confidence for Hockey has led to the results we see today in the revival of Hockey which De Facto is our National Game.”
“Kerala Government Announced A Cash Award of Rs 2.00 Crores to Hockey Bronze Medalist Olympian P. R. Sreejesh. Sreejesh is also Promoted as Joint Director in his Parent Department (Education Department) for his medal-winning performance in the Tokyo Olympics. Thanks to the Government of Kerala for this encouraging decision”
