India’s semifinal performance against Japan was as near to flawless as they can get. The offense was at its most creative but the defense held strong—India did not allow even a single penalty corner, let Japan enter their “D” only eight times, and allowed just one shot on goal.

Each of the four field goals and the five distinct goal scorers outperformed the last, displaying patience, talent, ingenuity, and audacity.
