It is a big slap on the face of Brij Bhushan – this is exactly what Mahavir Singh Phogat had to say after Vinesh Phogat secured her place in the finals. Not just a medal, Vinesh became the first Indian women’s to reach the finals and is en route to challenge for the gold at Paris Olympics.

Following her remarkable win in the semis, her uncle and coach Mahavir Singh Phogat claimed that her success in Paris Olympics is a tight slap on Brij Bhushan Saran Singh’s face. “It is a tight slap on Brij Bhushan’s face. Our daughter has done which no one has previously done before. He (Brij Bhushan) was determined to make her lose but that didn’t happen,” said Mahavir Singh Phogat.

Tight Slap on Brij Bhushan

The wrestlers protest against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) is known by one and all. The female wrestlers staged protests against the apex body and it’s former chief Brij Bhushan Singh for over a year. The former chief was accused of sexual harassment against female wrestlers.

And Vinesh Phogat was one of the wrestlers who joined the protest alongside the likes of Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia. Vinesh was subjected to huge opposition when the police charge against the wrestlers. But Vinesh was determined to prove her worth. From being one of the faces of the wrestler’s protest to recovering from her ACL injury and now en route to challenge for the gold at the Paris Olympics.

Mahavir Singh Phogat lauded huge praises for her niece claiming that Vinesh Phogat’s success at the French capital is a tight slap on Brij Bhishan’s face. “She is very close to win the gold medal, and I am sure that she will win the gold medal,” claimed Mahavir Singh Phogat.
