Khelo India University Games: Playback Singer Kailash Kher lashed out at the organisers of the Khelo India University Games over alleged mismanagement on Thursday, 25th May 2023. The popular artist was invited to perform in the opening ceremony of the event in Lucknow. In a viral video that is circulating on social media, the visibly upset singer was seen criticizing the organisers in an angry outburst. “You made me wait for an hour and then misbehaved with me. What kind of Khelo India is this?.”
He further added, “If you’ve called me to perform, the next one hour is completely mine. I worship my motherland and its citizens. But the management should be proper. Learn your manners first. Otherwise the programme will keep getting interrupted.”
The singer however performed some of his popular songs and enthralled the audience. He later took to Twitter and thanked the Lucknow crowd for enjoying the music and called it a memorable experience.
The Khelo India University Games 2023 will be held across four cities – Lucknow, Varanasi, Greater Noida and Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. The Sportring events began on May 23 with Kabaddi and the event will conclude on 3rd June.
The Khelo India University Games is part of the Khelo India initiative and this year’s university games is the third edition. The event is set to feature more than 4,000 athletest from 200 universities across the country. All the athletes will be under the age of 27 and they will feature in 21 sports.
