Syed Modi Semifinals LIVE – Sindhu beat Kosetskaya: Indian badminton ace PV Sindhu is one game away from ending her title drought after the top seed confirmed her place in the Syed Modi Internationals final. Sindhu sealed a brilliant Game 1 win in the semi-finals before her opponent Evgeniya Kosestkaya withdrew due to injury. Malvika Bansod defeated Anupama Upadhayay in a three-set thriller, coming back from the dead to seal her place in the final. Bansod had shot to fame after she defeated Saina Nehwal at the India Open last week, and will hope to bag another big fish on Sunday.

At the Babu Banarasi Indoor Stadium, the Indian shuttler defeated Russia’s Evgeniya Kosetskaya 21-11 in the semi-final clash that lasted for minutes. The 26-year-old Sindhu came out all guns blazing in the semi-final clash and she took the first game comprehensively 21-11, and she was just one more game away from progressing to the finals. The Russian opponent retired in the second game and as a result, Sindhu progressed to the finals of the tournament.

Sindhu vs Kosetskaya LIVE: Indian badminton queen PV Sindhu is just two wins away from ending her title drought and will look to inch one game closer when she takes the court in Lucknow on Saturday.

Sindhu sealed her place in the semi-finals with a comeback win over Supanida Katethong and now will look to go the distance at the Syed Modi International. The 26-year-old defeated her Thai rival, seeded sixth in the tournament, 11-21, 21-12, 21-17 in a quarterfinal match that lasted one hour and five minutes.

Her next test is fifth seed Evgeniya Kosetskaya in the semi-finals.

Sindhu vs Kosetskaya Head to Head: As far as the head to head record between the two is concerned, double Olympic medallist has never lost to Evgeniya Kosetskaya in her career. The duo have competed twice, with Sindhu winning in straight games on both occasions.

Women Singles Finals all Indian affair? If Sindhu wins, Women Singles Finals of BWF 100 event can be all Indian affair. As in the other semis, India’s Malvika Bansod will take on compatriot Anupama Upadhyay.
