For the 1st time in his career, in their 7th meeting, Karen Khachanov beat Stefanos Tsitsipas and left the Greek tennis player out of the quarterfinals at the Miami Open. It was not an easy afternoon for Tsitsipas in Miami, who is still not fully recovered from his shoulder injury, although he was clearly in much better shape than in Indian Wells this week.
But he was not at 100% and Khachanov produced a very good game from the service line to beat the Greek champion 7-6 (4), 6-4 after 1 hour and 32 minutes of play at the Grandstand of Hard Rock Stadium.
