First Quarter
Casper Ruud headlines first quarter
Casper Ruud will enter the Geneva Open after losing the semifinal at the Italian Open last week. The Norwegian will look to continue his recent form before making his way into the French Open. He is the top seed in the tournament and headlines the first quarter of the draws.
He has received a bye to the second round, where he is set to face the winner between Hugo Delien and JJ Wolf. He is likely to face sixth seed Tallon Griekspoor in the second round. Nikolas Jarry and Qualifier Stefano Travaglia are the other players in the quarter.
Second Quarter
Alexander Zverev leads second quarter
Alexander Zverev has received a wildcard entry in the tournament. The German has also been seeded third and he is in the second quarter of the draws. Zverev will begin his campaign in the second round and will face Christopher Eubanks. The American defeated wildcard entrant Benoit Paire in straight sets to enter the second round.
China’s Wu Yibing and Italy’s Marco Cecchinato are the other players in the quarter who have made their way into the second round. They will be facing each other for a spot in the quarterfinal.
Third Quarter
Grigor Dimitrov and Zapatta Miralles lead third quarter
Grigor Dimitrov is the fourth seed and he has received a wildcard to play in the tournament. The Bulgarian will face Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena in the second round of the tournament. Baena defeated his compatriot qualifier Daniel Rincon in three sets in the first round.
Another Spaniard in Zapatta Miralles is also in the quarter. Miralles is the seventh seed. He entered the second round after defeating qualifier Vitaliy Sacho in straight sets in the first round. In the second round he will face the winner between Nino Serdarusic and Christopher O Connell.
Fourth Quarter
Taylor Fritz headlines fourth quarter
Taylor Fritz is the second seed and he leads the final quarter of the draw. The American will face his compatriot Marcos Giron in the second round. Giron clinched a convincing 6-0, 6-4 win against Alexander Bublik.
Eighth seed Adrian Mannarino is the other seeded player in the quarter. The Frenchman defeated Filip Krajinovic in straight sets in the first round. He is set to face the winner between Ilya Ivashka and Guido Pella in the second round.
