Men’s Singles Draws

Defending champion Rafael Nadal has pulled out of the tournament as he is recovering from the hip flexor injury. It will be the first time since 2004 that the 14-time champion at Roland Garros will not be part of the tournament.

His compatriot and World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz will be the top seed in the tournament. It will be the first time that the 20-year old will enter a Grand Slam tournament as the top seed in his career.

He headlines the first quarter of the draws. He is set to begin his campaign by facing a qualifier. Alcaraz and Stefanos Tsitsipas are placed in the same quarter in the draw. Meanwhile a blockbuster semifinal contest between Novak Djokovic and Alcaraz is very likely as the Serbian is in the same half as Alcaraz.

Novak Djokovic, who is aiming to win his 23rd Grand Slam title is the third seed in the tournament. He will begin his campaign by facing Aleksandar Kovacevic in the first round. Djokovic’s quarterfinal opponent is likely to be Andrey Rublev.

Menawhile, Daniil Medvedev, who is the second seed leads the bottom half of the draws. He begins his campaign by facing a qualifier. He could meet Italy’s Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals.

Also fourth seed Casper Ruud and sixth seed Casper Ruud are present in the third quarter. Both of them are likely to set up clash in the quarterfinal. They recently met in the semifinal stage at the Italian Open.

Women’s Singles Draws

Top seed Iga Swiatek will be facing Cristina Bucsa in the first round of the French Open. The next top seed in Swiatek’s quarter is 13th seed Barbora Krejcikjova. Coco Gauff is also present in the same quarter and the American is expected to face Swiatek in the quarterfinal this year. It is to be noted that both Swiatek and Gauff met in the final last year. Coco Gauff faces Rebeka Masarova in the first round.

Elena Rybakina, who beat Swiatek three times in the tour so far this year is likely to face the World No.1 in the semifinal. Fourth seeded Rybakina is in the second quarter of the draws. She begins her campaign by facing a qualifier.

Ons Jabeur, who is the seventh seed is also in this quarter. Jabeur will face Lucia Bronzetti in the first round and is expected to face Rybakina in the quarterfinal.

Second seed Aryna Sabalenka is in the final quarter. She will kickstart her campaign by facing Marta Kotyuk in the opening round. Fifth seed Caroline Garcia, 9th seed Daria Kasatkina, 16th seed Karolina Pliskova, 19th seed Quinwen Zheng are the other top seeds in the quarter.
