BMW Open 2023: BMW Open will be the third clay court tournament in the ATP Tour this week. The ATP 250 event at Munich will be played from 17th to 23rd April 2023. Holger Rune, who was the runner-up at the Monte Carlo Masters much recently will be the top seed in the tournament. He is also the defending champion. First Quarter
Holger Rune leads first quarter
Teenager Holger Rune is looking to defend his title at the BMW Open. He came close to winning the Monte Carlo last week but went down in the final against Andrey Rublev. He will now aim to win his first title of the season. Rune has received a bye from the second round. In the second round, he will face Thaigo Monteiro or Yannick Hanfmann.
Lorenzo Sonego is the fifth seed and he will face Quentin Halys in the first round. Sonego is likely to set up clash against Rune in the quarterfinal. Cristian Garin and Marko Top are the other two players in the draw. They will face each other in the first round.

Alexander Zverev leads second quarter
Third seed Alexander Zverev is yet to fire since his return to the tour earlier this year. Zverev will begin his campaign from the second round. He will face the winner between Chris O Connell and Ugo Humbert in the second round. Fifth seed Sebastian Baez is the only other seeded player in the quarter.
The Argentine will face Oscar Otte in the first round. Austtralian Jordan Thompson is also part of the quarter. He will face qualifier Flavio Cobolli in the opening round of the tournament.
Third Quarter
Botic van de Zandschulp headlines third quarter
Fourth seed Botic van de Zandschulp headlines action at the third quarter. The Dutch will begin his campaign from the second round. He will take on the winner between Aslan Karatsev and wildcard entrantv Daniel Altmaier in the second round.
Another player, who has made his way in the second round is USA’s Marcos Giron. He defeated seventh seed Roberto Carballes Baena in three sets in the first round. Giron is set to face Jan Lennard Struff or Alexander Ritschard for a spot in the quarterfinal. Jan Lennard Struff made it to the quarterfinal at the Monte Carlo Masters last week and will aim to continue his form.
Fourth Quarter

USA’s Tayor Fritz will lead the final quarter of the draws. He is the second seed and is set to begin his campaign by facing either Marton Fucsovics or wildcard entrant Max Rehberg in the second round.
Dominic Thiem is also in this quarter. The Austrian will face Constant Lestienne in the opening round. The other two players in the quarter are Kyle Edmund or Marc Andre Huesler.
